Britta Lesniak studied Musicology, German Philology and Social and Cultural Anthropology at Göttingen University where she graduated with an M.A. in 2013. In the same year she started working on her dissertation in Cultural Musicology (Göttingen University) entitled “Aural Serialization: The Music of Hindi Dharmic TV-Serials” for which she conducted field research in India. Her main research interests concern the study of popular electronic music, (pop-) musical scenes and communities as well as the intersection of music and media.
