Frank Krutnik
Frank Krutnik is Head of Film at the University of Sussex. He has contributed to numerous international screen studies journals and critical anthologies such as Genre and Contemporary Hollywood (ed. Steve Neale, 2002) and A Companion to Film Comedy (ed. Andrew Horton & Joanna Rapf, 2012). As well as publishing the books In a Lonely Street: Film Noir, Genre, Masculinity (1991), Popular Film and Television Comedy (with Steve Neale, 1990) and Inventing Jerry Lewis (2000), he has edited Hollywood Comedians: the Film Reader (2003) and co-edited Un-American Hollywood: Politics and Film in the Blacklist Era (2008), a themed issue of the New Review of Film and Television Studies on “cycles of sensation” (2012), and a forthcoming special issue of the Film Studies journal on film seriality (2017). He is currently working on the monograph Killers on the Kilocycles: Radio/Noir.
