Madita Oeming has recently been awarded her M.A. in American Studies from the University of Goettingen, where she had also worked as a student assistant for the Popular Seriality Research Unit from 2011 to 2013. Her scholarly interests include intermediality, material and visual culture, the genre of New Journalism, especially from the Vietnam War era, and a general fascination with pop-cultural phenomena. With her Master’s thesis “Moby’s Dick – The Significance of ‘Moby Dick’ in  US-Pornographies” Oeming has entered the field of Porn Studies, within which she is now pursuing a dissertation project at the University of Paderborn. As the current executive manager of the local house of literature and a co-founder of the first poetry festival in Goettingen, Oeming also explores the literary scene outside academia.
